Born and raised in the Eastern Townships, Cynthia recently joined the community at Emmanuel in Fall 2025.

Her ministry seeks to create safe and open places where all are welcome to explore their spirituality.

She currently lives in Hemmingford with her wife and pets (one Alaskan Malamute and four cats).

Karen Ingalls

Administrative Assistant
Karen Ingalls, joined our staff as church secretary during the summer of 2005. Born and raised in the area, she brings with her extensive administrative experience from both the commercial and non-profit volunteer sectors. With Karen’s background in the arts, she can be found during the summer and fall months perusing the numerous art festivals, appreciating the latest creations from the artists.

Susan Reininger

Music Director & Organist
Susan Reininger has been the organist and choir director at Emmanuel United since 2000. Music has been the focal point of her life. She has taught music at the elementary and secondary level in Quebec as well as in Hungary.

Besides music at church, Susan also directs the Pot-Pourri Women’s choir and the Knowlton Harmony Band.

When not at church, she is busy with her dog Bella!
